Hello community,
This weekend i am the proud owner of a irobot roomba combo.
I tried to set up a custom routine in Google home to vacuum the house when evererybody leaves the house.
However it looks like Google home does not have a good connection with the roomba.
It does show up in the google home app but i cannot get it to start the roomba
With the Irobot app i can start the vacuum no problem.
Looking forward to your replies
Thank you in advance,
Gerard

Hi @potzel
Did you link iRobot to the Google Home acct? In the Google Home app, press +, Works w/ Google Home and then add iRobot.
Once you do that you should be able to use voice commands via the Google Home. I have a Roomba and can say , Okay, Google vacuum the kitchen etc.
I haven't set up a routine with it but that should be straightforward once you get the Roomba and Google Home connected. We can dig into that but first try to add and link your iRobot acct in the GH app.

Hi @JillG
Thank you for your reply
Yes i have the link between the roomba and the google home app.
i can see the roomba in the google home app but it looks like the connection does not work.
I cant seem to start the roomba via the gogle home app.
Via the irobot app it works fine

Hmmm. Try unlinking and relinking it in the GH app.
Do you have the Roomba all set up for Google Assistant? That will be in the Roomba app under settings/smart home. Set up for Google Assistant and let the permissions.

Hi @potzel
Looks like no known issues but they are requesting you fill out the tracker in the link above. I would also be sure to reboot your network and update the roomba and Google software.

Hey, did you find any resolution? Seems like a lot of people have the same problem. Mine shows fine, acknowledges the command, shows the roomba but won’t start it. Even using the nest hub I can select the roomba but when I press start, nothing happens

Hey,
No I did not find a solution for this problem, I have reached out to Roomba but they also can't help me with this. I guess this my first and last Roomba i bought.
