Disable smart home connections/hub

Hi. I just enabled the Smart hub or smart home feature option on my Android smartphone to try to connect my Bluetooth device to it. That is not an option I'm not sure what I was doing I just want to go back to only factory settings on my Android phone regarding the Smart home feature because I don't have any smart home devices that are able to connect to that feature I wasn't sure what it was I guess I got ahead of myself how do I stop it or disable it or go back to factory not on my whole phone just for the smart home smartphone home features? Thanks

Thanks for reaching out. There are 2 options to disable this feature.

1. Disable it on your Lock Screen

If a "Home" icon appeared in the bottom corner of your lock screen:

  • For most Androids (Pixel/Stock): Go to Settings > Display > Lock screen and toggle off "Show device controls" or "Control from locked device."
  • For Samsung (Galaxy): Go to Settings > Lock screen and AOD > Touch and hold to edit. Tap the icons in the bottom corners and select "None" or a different app (like Flashlight) to replace the home feature.
2. Clear the App Data (The "Factory Reset" for just this feature)

If the feature still feels "stuck" or is asking you to set it up, you can reset the Google Home app, which usually powers this feature:

  1. Go to Settings > Apps > See all apps.
  2. Find Google Home in the list and tap it.
  3. Tap Storage & cache.
  4. Tap Clear Storage (or Clear Data).
    • Note: This won't delete your photos or messages; it just "un-links" your Google account from the smart home features so it goes back to its original, unused state.
