Oh the irony!
It's hilarious and incredibly sad that a Google product does not actually integrate with their platform yet a 3rd party device actually does.
Moral of the story is do NOT buy Google cameras!!!! Like the nest Indoor/outdoor camera (link)
While you can add these cameras to your Google Home, you can NOT integrate them within ANY Google Home routine except Home/Away assist.
That's it.
Want to make a custom routine or use google voice assistant to turn your cameras on and off? You physically can't with Google's own products. It's not supported! Want to buy a camera from any other vendor that supports Google? Those definitely work!
It's like the products google made for themselves are just utter trash. The really funny part is the API endpoints for "on" and "off" totally exist, but you physically can not use a routine, or a voice command to disable Google's own cameras!

What a terrible response...this just screams "We don't care". Why would anyone purchase Nest products now when Kaza/TP-link cameras are half the cost and integrate the way Nest cameras should? Serious oversight on Google's part - I'd suggest boycotting their products.
Kaza Cam is $30: https://www.kasasmart.com/us/products/security-cameras/kasa-cam-kc120

And you can't receive Google Camera notifications on Google Home display, just on the phone... Why?
