Today is Friday, December 27, 2024, I have been experiencing the Google Nest Mini 1st Generation saying "please log in through the google home app" when spoken to, however, I am logged in and wifi is working fine. I've tried unplugging the nest and plugging back in. There is no reset button on the button of the nest. The only button on the device is on the side which is for turning the mic on and off. On the bottom of the device, there is a hole that is orange on the inside and appears to be for hanging up on the nest device. The device has already been removed from the Google Home and re-added but that did not work. Any other suggestions on how to connect the nest so that it works properly?
Thanks in advance.

I know you unplugged, but try a Reboot from the speaker's Settings (3 dots too right).
A factory reset may be required.

So, the orange hole is not a place to hang up up the nest? It's a factory reset button? What do you suggest using to do the factory reset? My finger is too big to fit and I don't want to use something too sharp.

In your original post you confused me.
There is the:
1st Generation Google HOME Mini (pictured below)
2nd Generation Google NEST Mini (with hanging hole)
Is this what your reset button looks like ( Pictured below: 1st Gen HOME Mini)?
I can use my thumb to press down on it to hear a click to reset.
If you in actual fact have a big keyhole shaped recess that a screw head could penetrate to hang the speaker from then you could well have a 2nd gen Nest Mini which has a different reset method.
