2 1st Gen Google Home Minis stopped turning on

2 of my google home minis that i hadnt used for a long while and were stored off in a shelf suddenly both stopped turning on. I haven't used them in about a year (and even then it was just short use)
Until now im getting back into smart home stuff so i decided to pull out the minis but they both refuse to turn on with any sign of life like the lights popping up no matter what cable i try using (even with the original cable it doesnt work).
Is there a way i can get my units replaced? Is this a common issue and is there a fix?
I would've shrugged it off if it were only one of them but both refusing to turn on at the same time since they were mostly stored apart from each other is very weird.

My mini stopped working the other day too. I reset it several times, removed it from my Home app and reinstalled it, and reset my modem. Now it shows in the app but when I ask it a question, it says the same as yours. Did Google brick the Gen 1s or are you just too busy with court cases and other divisions to keep a good thing functioning.  Please fix this "glitch" right away.  Since I am handicapped, I rely heavily on my mini.

Hi folks,

Thanks for posting in the Community! Sorry to hear that all your Google Nest Mini’s aren’t turning on. No worries, help is here! Let’s try some troubleshooting steps that might help to fix this issue:

  • Plug the Google Nest Mini  into a different wall outlet.

Note: Make sure they are not connected to a surge protector to rule out all other hardware.

  • Discharge the speaker or display:

  • Unplug the power adapter from the outlet and the speaker or display.
  • Leave it unplugged for 20 seconds.
  • Plug the power adapter into the speaker or display.
  • Plug the other end of the power adapter into a wall outlet that works.
  • Check if any LED lights would appear on the speaker or display.

Let me know how it works.

Regards,

Axel.
