Good afternoon I hope you are well.
I have both a google home mini and an Alexa eco dot. Now I love all google products, however I believe that the google home mini lacks some functionality that Alexa seems to have. Are there plans to introduce similar features to google in the near future because if I am honest, I find the speaker a bit boring at times when the Alex one is a little more fun.
Examples below.
Alexa has skills that you can add to you speaker, like games, quiz shows, sound effect’s speaking to Santa etc and they can all be added to Alexa automations/routines. I think that Google home lacks this functionality. As your skills/actions are not very numerous.
Maybe allowing a user created library where users of the device have created their own actions and make them available for other to use. Similar to the HACS repository for home assistant.
As I said I like the google products and eco system, but I think it lacks on the assistant front in terms of what amazon currently offer.
