I use Google alarms and timers all the time for cooking, chores, and sleeping. The "stop" command usually has to be given 8 or 9 times to be recognized and turning off another speakers alarms from a different room is inconsistent on what terms work, what worked last time won't work this and when it finally does say "stopping any alarms that are ringing" it most of the time does not stop the alarm and requires going into the room where the alarm is ringing

I've found that the "Stop" command doesn't work properly on timers since recent changes.
I believe this is related to timers with novelty tones, eg Chicken Timer. Since the last change, the timer alarms now start with a regular alarm tone, then swap to the novelty tone. If you say "Stop" immediately when the regular alarm starts, it won't register the command and will continue to not work after the transition until you say "Hey Google" then "Stop". If however, you wait for the alarm to switch to the novelty alarm before saying anything, it will work as expected.
I preferred the behaviour as it was before - Just go directly into the novelty alarm and then cancel as expected. The new alarm experience is clunky and also has this bug. It's a worse user experience.

I'm a little disappointed at the lack of interest here. I can't be the only one noticing that progress is glacially slow, and when changes are made, that features are breaking. Is this a dying product with a skeleton crew supporting it?

I don't use novelty tones, just the default. I also will switch between STOP and GOOGLE STOP and usually, especially lately, it takes 6-8 times before the alarm actually shuts off

It looks like my issue with the alarms failing to stop correctly was fixed today. How's your situation?
Also, thank you software team.

I'm fed up needing to tell my nest hub to stop the alarm tone at least 3 or 4 times. I'm worried it'll stop playing the music I've got set to start. I need that to actually wake up and get out of bed. Saying good morning begins or restarts the routine, but it doesn't silence the alarm.
