I have a Tado central heating and hot water control setup.
It's synced to my Google device.
If I go on the App, I can turn the hot water on and off, or change the temperature of the central heating.
Even though its called 'hot water', when I ask Google to turn it on, it's says it doesn't understand
It's very frustrating, why doesn't it recognise the Hot Water, even though when it added it after first synching the Tado it labelled it Hot Water itself?
Suggestions welcome.

According to this page, there is no Google voice command to turn the hot water on:
I'm not sure "hot water" counts as a device. Hope that helps.

It says on that page that Tado can :"Adjust the Hot water setting"
Which is exactly what I want to do.

In your post, you say you want to turn it on. Adjusting means to change the temperature setting of the thermostat.

The hot water is on or off.
The thermostat is what you can change.

I think I would contact tado. I have always found them really helpful.

hopefully this explains it.

Not really. I get this all the time for commands that it does understand sometimes. I currently have a situation where "turn on tree lights" works perfectly, but Google says it doesn't understand "turn off tree lights" .

Hey Nige-P,
Thanks for sharing details about the issue here. I appreciate @languageservice for helping. Currently, controlling hot water devices via voice command is not supported. For now, only Tado thermostat can be controlled using the Google Home/Nest devices. For more information, please visit this link.
We're always looking for ways to improve -- we'll take this as feedback, and we'll gladly pass it along to the team. You can also send feedback using your device by saying, "Hey Google, send feedback." Visit this link for more steps.
Cheers,
Muddi

Thanks for the answer.
As I'm sure you can appreciate, it's not the answer I was hoping for.
Being able to control it from the Google Home App works, but voice doesn't which misses the point of voice control for me.
Hopefully it will be addressed sooner rather than later!

Agreed. Incorporating this is a trivial matter for the company, but having got involved with home automation as a result of setting up an annex for my mother, this is a really important thing for many users.

Hey folks,
I know that this is not the answer that you are looking for. I'll take these as feedback. Rest assured that the team is working hard to add more devices that can be can be controlled via voice command.
Let us know if you have additional concerns or questions about your device. Otherwise, I'll be closing the thread after 24 hours.
Cheers,
Muddi
