While I am locating at home, everytime when I ask google assistant for something, on my phone, I get answered on the nest mini. I'm making sure that the microphone on nest mini cannot catch my voice, basically I'm in a different room. How can I stop this? If the phone microphone gets my voice activation why I don't get the assistant reply on the phone?

Hi raklik,
This is how the Google assistant has been designed to function when you are near speakers or displays.
If you’re near your Google Home device and phone, only Google Home should respond to "Hey Google". Both devices may wake up, but your phone should go back to sleep.

Oh, that's pretty bad development. :)) I'm not in the same room with the mini so I cannot hear what will answer. It woupd make sense to reply to be on the same device where the request have been made.

I agree with you, I would take different wake words for my phone and speakers, e.g. "Okay Google" = phone and "Hey Google" = speakers and displays.
I currently disable wake word detection on my phone and watch due to this and manually active the assistant on those devices.

I cannot disable on the phone and watch since I use assistant when I'm not at home. But, good idea to have different key word on mini. I actually didn't know that was possible. 🙂 Thanks!
