I'm heavily invested in Google hardware. I have a Nest Hub (7" gen. 2}, Pixel 7 Pro, Pixel Watch, and now a Pixel Tablet.
The Hub is in my bedroom. When I'm in the bathroom, I use Google Assistant on my phone to start playing music on a wireless speaker in the bathroom. But instead of the Assistant responding on the phone that's in my hand, it responds on the Hub, which is 15-20 feet away.
What controls this behavior? I don't see anything in the settings on any of my devices.
Thanks in advance.

The smart display will always take precedence in that scenario. There's no feature or setting to control that unfortunately. I’d encourage you to also send this feedback directly to Google. You will not receive a response, unless Google need more details from you, however the team are still reading the feedback.

David's reply suggested that I contact Google. Where is the best place to do that?

Hey SamCham,
I believe David_K, suggests that you send a feedback. You can send feedback by following the steps provided on the link. Also, you can adjust how sensitive Google Assistant is to “Hey Google" by following the steps below:
Hope this helps.
