Assistant no longer stops action after a specified period

I have noticed just from a few weeks ago where my home speaker is no longer stopping an action after a specified period. example:  "Hey Google, turn on the master bathroom exhaust fan for 20 minutes"  This used to work fine and the assistants response usually was "turning on master bathroom exhaust fan, for 20 minutes" and then it would turn off the fan. But now the response just is "Turning on the master bathroom exhaust fan" and then it won't turn off automatically anymore. 

This feature had been working fine for me for as long as I can remember so this is a recent failure.  As a test when I do the same test with Alexa for the same device it is working fine.

Thanks for posting and letting us know about your Google speaker concern. Let me help you. A few questions: what Nest speaker are we working with? Were there any recent changes made? What troubleshooting steps have you taken so far?

 

Try to refresh your devices and observe if it makes a difference. First, reboot your Wi-Fi router, and once the network is back up, do the same thing to your Google Nest speaker.
