Assistant playing yesterdays news

When I ask to “play the news”, the assistant is not getting the latest edition from my preferred source, instead it is playing programming that was recorded yesterday.

My first ranked source is NPR Up First and NPR News Now

Same.

Yes, I too am noticing that the sources seem to be updating slowly. For example, I asked to play the news just before 4pm EDT, and the NPR hourly update was from 8pm last night. (This morning at 5am it was from some point yesterday afternoon, so at least they are updating rather than thinking the last-known update already played.)

Hi everyone,

Thanks for posting — let's get this sorted out. A few questions: is it only happening on NPR news source? Have you tried asking Google Assistant on your phone to play the news and see if the same behavior happens? What are the troubleshooting steps you’ve tried?

Alex

The issue has resolved for me. The most recent npr recordings are being played by the assistant

Hey there,

I’m glad to hear that it is working now! Thanks for the update.

@SJT, @rawmustard, were you able to check if NPR is now playing the most recent news?

Regards,

Alex

Oh yeah, I'm sure the issue was resolved some time over the weekend.

That’s good to know! Let me know if I can help you with anything else.

@SJT, have you had the chance to check if NPR is working properly now?
