Audio stutter when paired to bluetooth speaker (Home Mini and Creative stage SE)

Anyone found a solution to this issue?  

Home mini playing music: Fine  
Home mini paired to bluetooth speaker:: Stutters like crazy.  
Phone paired to bluetooth speaker directly: Fine  (tried two phones)  

I have found others with the same issue, but never a fix

• Are there other nearby Bluetooth devices turned on?
• Are there any high-voltage appliances or devices using 2.4 GHz nearby?
• Is either device currently paired to another Bluetooth device?
• Is the Google Home app up to date?
• Does your Google Home Mini work correctly with other Bluetooth speakers besides the Creative Stage SE?
• What is the firmware version of your Google Home Mini?  Here's an article that might help you check: Google speaker and display firmware versions and release notes.
