Autoplay YouTube music doesn't happen on Google Nest

Google Nest doesn't start autoplay once an album finished through YouTube music. I'm not casting from a phone. Downloaded the Google Home app; under the settings for Nest, No option to turn this on in Home app

In the "settings" for the Nest in the Google Home app, there is no "service settings" option, only "device information". This version of the Home app is updated.

Hi folks,

Appreciate the help here, RachelGomez123.

JennifireJean, thanks for reaching out. A few questions: what Nest display do you own?  When did it begin? Also, what steps have you taken so far?

You can reboot your Nest display and observe if it will make a difference. If applicable, try other music services and see if you will get the same result.

Regards,

Juni

Hello,

I have a Google Nest Audio Smart speaker. I use Google YouTube Music - I do not cast from a phone/other device. I ask the Google Assistant in the speaker itself to play music. It used to autoplay once an album or playlist ended but no longer does. The problem started recently, that autoplay no longer occurs. I have unplugged/reset the speaker.

If I cast the Goog YouTube Music app to the speaker from my phone, autoplay occurs. But if I don't cast, the speaker won't do autoplay anymore.

Thanks!

Hey JennifireJean,

Chiming in, could you try these steps the steps below and see if you'll still have the same issue. Make sure to do it from the YouTube Music app.

  • Go to the now playing screen and click on "UP NEXT."
  • Scroll down the queue and look for the "Auto-play" option to turn on.

Let us know how it goes.

Cheers,

Muddi

Hi Muddi,

Yes, auto-play is on in the YouTube music app, but I do not use my phone to cast music to the speaker. I'm talking about when I ask the speaker to play music without casting from a device. In this case, auto-play does not work in YouTube music.
