With a Mini smart speaker, is it possible to make a call send a message via internet without a mobile phone. So for example I'm in my garage without my mobile phone, but I do have WiFi internet, and I've fallen and need to call for help. How do I do this?

It is possible to make calls with a speaker or display. There are 3 different ways to make calls and availability of them varies by country. You should note none of them support emergency calls, except carrier calling with Telstra.

Thanks for your suggestions davidking. Unfortunately as I am in UK I cannot use Google supported calling, I do not have a mobile phone for carrier calling and Duo is non starter.

No I'm afraid. Those 3 are the only supported calling options.

Thank you for the confirmation.
So, the next option, can messages be sent?. I assume text messages can not be sent but how about other messaging platforms?

Not natively, no. There are some workarounds using third party services though.
