Hi,
I have 3 Nest indoor cameras and 3 Nest hubs (2nd gen) over the last few months the feed from the cameras is constantly going off and showing ‘camera feed unavailable’
sometime the camera comes back on again and sometimes it doesn’t and reverts to the Home Screen.
We use this set up for monitoring our young son who has a terminal illness so it’s imperative that we can view him constantly when he’s in bed.
please help as this issue is getting critical and if I can’t get a solution. I will have to purchase another camera system.
Thanks in advance

Hi MJTJ,
Thanks for reaching out. I know how important it is for you to be able to stream your Nest camera on your Google Nest Hub we'd love to help.
To confirm, are you experiencing the same issue when streaming your camera on the Nest and Google Home app? Let's go ahead and do a sequential reboot by disconnecting your Nest Hub and router from the power source and leave them unplugged for 1 minute. Once done, plug them back one at a time with intervals.
Let us know how it goes.
Cheers,
Muddi

I have the same problem, however, it seems cameras working just fine when view requested from an android phone, but not working when trying from an iPhone. It also looks like, despite exactly the same app installed on iPhone (used link from email invitation), the app does not look identical in some functions. Why is that, and how can I fix the unavailability issue when requesting display in any of the rooms/doorbell? Cheers

Hey Agnieszka777,
Thanks for the information. To confirm, are you able to stream the camera from the native and Google Home app? Also, what is the make and model of your camera?
Cheers,
Muddi

Hi Muddi
I am not sure what your question means, regarding streaming from native. The model is Hub Max

Hi everyone,
@Agnieszka777, thanks for answering. What message are you getting when you try streaming the camera in the Google Home and Nest apps? Also, it'll be a big help if you can take a screenshot when you access the camera in both apps.
Looking forward to your response.
Best,
Lovely

Hiya! I took screenshots earlier, but when I want to upload them here I get a message at the bottom of the screen “You do not have permission to upload images”. Unless there is another way to show you, I’ll try to describe the best I can maybe?
From the main (home) screen of Google Home I go to one of the 2 rooms where we have cameras available, one of them is a doorbell and the other is in Google Nest Hub Max. When I tap on the latter, and then on “View Nest Cam”, it tries to connect and it doesn’t, and displays following message: Camera unavailable” and below that “Can’t reach this camera”. I checked that camera is available on the Nest settings and the green light is on, also my partner can connect to that camera from his phone. The only difference is our phones, he is using android phone, I have an iPhone.
Does this help at all?
Thanks a lot

Hi Agnieszka777,
Thanks for the added information. To confirm, have you tried doing a sequential reboot? This will refresh the connection of your network and devices. If not, please unplug your router and Google Home/Nest speakers from the power source then leave them unplugged for 1 minute. Once done, plug them back one at a time with intervals.
Keep us posted.
Cheers,
Muddi

I have rebooted it but it did not change the outcome. The issue is still there.

Hi Agnieszka777,
Thanks for coming back to us. Let's go ahead and reset your Nest Hub. Please press and hold both volume buttons together, at the back of the Nest Hub, for about 10 seconds. You'll hear your Google Assistant confirm that it's resetting the Nest Hub. Once done, check if you still have the same issue when streaming your camera.
Cheers,
Muddi

Hi Muddi
I did the reset, and then had to set it up again. I still can’t see the camera display, only now I don’t have error messages, instead it says “connecting” and never connects.

Hi Muddi
I’ve sent the form. The info you requested:
Firmware version of my Nest Hub Max: 1.67.330920
Google Home app version: 2.63.110
When I stream the built in camera, I get error message (or used to get, now it is just sitting doing nothing and displaying “connecting” message) from Google Home app on my iPhone. The light on the Nest is solid green.
Just to remind what I said earlier in this thread, my hubby does not get this error on his Android phone.
Thank you.
