Can't Play RTE Radio 1 on Nest Home

This week i have been unable to play RTE radio 1 on the Nest Home. It also won't let me cast RTE 1 from my phone to the Nest Home either. RTE radio 1 will play on my nest speakers and my LG chrome speakers. On the display, it brings up TuneIn and plays the "TuneIn" and then tries to load the station but then stops.

I have also tried to load all the other RTE stations and they haven't worked.

Nest Home (1st Gen)

RTE Radio 1, RTE 2FM, RTE Lyric FM, RTE Gold, RTE Junior, RTE Radio na Gaelteachta, RTE Radio 1 Extra

Newstalk fm, Today fm etc

• Cast firmware version of your Google Nest speakers

I know some of you already provided the information above within the forum post and this will be shared with the team, but having this information included in the fresh feedback sent from your device is very important.

Seems like we've been seeing quite an increase in reports around this about not being able to play RTE stations on TuneIn, and thanks for sharing your feedback on this thread. The team is aware of this issue and currently investigating. Once I have more news to share, I'll let you know.

Thanks for the response. A few things: Did you try streaming other radio stations? If so, are they working or are you getting the same message? Which Nest speaker? What command are you using to stream your radio?

Hi Juni.  I have nest hub version 2.  Is there nobody in Google support who has a similar device? To reproduce all they have to do is say 'hey Google stream RTE radio1'.  Rte displays on the screen but nothing else.

It has started working again for me on Google Display Home devise and Bose Smart speaker today.

I appreciate your time updating the thread. For those users still having the issue, please let us know what country you located in and the current firmware version of your device. Also, please try rebooting your device by disconnecting it from the power source and leave it unplugged for 1 minute.

I am based in Dublin, Ireland. No RTE radio stations will broadcast or be cast on my Nest Hub. All works fine on my Google Mini's. Details on my firmware as follows:

We are still working on this issue. For the past few weeks, things with RTE Radio have been a bit wonky for quite a few users located in different countries. As soon as I have some more helpful information, I will ensure to update this thread.

I was away for a week, just tried RTE radio 1 and 2fm on my nest. All working 👍👍👍

I have a 1st gen Nest Hub and a Nest Hub Max - both running the same firmware versions:

I have disconnected and rebooted and removed and re-added both devices and I still cannot stream or cast RTÉ radio on either of them. I am in Ireland.

I have exactly the same issue.  Tune in comes up and the RTE logo comes up but it keeps looking as if it is buffering.  This is the nest display - the mini's on the same network work fine.

All RTE Radio Stations not working now for one month on Google Max Hub (2021). All other radio stations are working OK. I Have a Google mini (2022) in bedroom which picks up RTE Radio all the time. Strange!

Thanks for posting in the Google Nest Help Community. I've duplicated this thread to a similar trending issue on this link. Our team is aware of an issue affecting some users. Also, we received updates from other users that RTE stations are working on their devices. If you still experience the same issue, please try rebooting your device by unplugging it from the power source and leave it unplugged for 1-2 minutes.

I do recommend to follow the main thread because this one will be locked automatically and you can provide and receive updates on the main thread.

I have tried rebooting my Nest Hub but same thing still happening.  RTE radio one logo appears but doesn't play. Has been this way for days.  However Google speaker upstairs has no problem streaming it on TuneIn, so a Nest problem.

I have the same problem trying to get RTE 1 or any other radio station, connected to RTE will not work on my google nest...

Unfortunately I have been waiting so long for a fix, I think the only real fix at this stage is to ditch the Google nest and get my old FM Radio out!!

I can get all radio stations streaming on my Google nest except for any of the radio stations that are belonging to RTE???

So, anyone want to buy a second hand google next??

RTE radio 1 has not been playing for me on my Nest Home for weeks. It works on my phone on TuneIn and it also works on some Alexa devices. Are there any new updates?

Has to be a Nest issue.

RTE works on my old Google speaker fine, works on Alexa.

It seems an inordinate length of time to find a fix for this.
