So, I have an android tv ( it has Chromecast) and I have a nest speaker. I want to add them to the same speaker group, but the android tv does not show up. Why can't I do this?

I also want an answer to this. I've been able to connect my Chromecast to a single speaker, but not a speaker pair. Also it would only connect to the Chromecast device via Bluetooth. It did successfully play the sound from shows on different streaming services this way. On a single speaker.
I cannot get the speaker pair to enter bluetooth-pairing mode; I've tried both through verbal command ("try again later") and through Google Home app (option not visible on Settings>Audio like it is for an unpaired speaker)
I've also found that when you've bluetooth-paired a single speaker, and then made a Nest-speaker-pair, the Bluetooth-pairings don't carry over. So you lose the pairing info for the single speaker altogether.
If the Nest-speaker-pair had been able to bluetooth-pair to anything, I would have tried to connect them to the TV directly so that the speakers would work for DVDs and external gaming devices as well. Alas... I've wasted money.
I've come to the conclusion that Google haven't got this feature - which is incredibly frustrating because I bought them for the sole purpose of using them in combination with visual media: a pair of Nest Speakers was cheaper than a low-end or second hand TV sound system in the January sales, and it was advertised that I would be able to do this. This feature has been scrubbed from all mention in the current advertising.

@Wstewart, Thanks for reaching out. It would be awesome to link your TV to the speaker group. Could you tell us the make and model of your TV? Also, is the Chromecast built-in or plugged in?
@CaringCathy, I totally understand that this is a good feature to use with your Nest speakers and Chromecast, but it isn’t available. I'd suggest you submit feedback about it; here's how.
