Can't change led colors via home app nor change to white via speaker after update

Since the new update I can no longer change the color of my smart bulbs via google home app on andriod & if I ask assistant to change the color it will but not to white.  Is there a way around this?

I'm having the same issue but only with one lamp. It's odd because it works fine if I selected individually but it will no longer change colors with the room group of lights like it always has done in the past.. and yes I have tried unlinking the account and reconnecting to no avail.

It's so irking!!! And now I can't make any lists either

Thanks for reaching out. Sorry to know that you're having issues changing the colors of your lights on the Google Home app. A few questions: what is the Google Home app version on your phone? What is the brand of your lights? Does it happen to other smart lights?

 

@Akeelahlove: Could you tell us more about the lists? How many accounts are linked on your device? If multiple, do they have the same issue creating lists?

Thanks for the information. To confirm, have you tried unlinking and relinking your Smart Life account from the Google Home app?

Hi Akeelahlove,

 

Thanks for trying. Just so we’re on the same page, which Nest speakers are we working with? Have you tried doing factory reset? If not yet, follow the steps in this link to revert your Nest speaker back to its default and original settings. Set it up again. 

 

It would help a lot if you could do a sequential reboot: 

 

  1. Unplug the power cord of your router, followed by your Nest speakers, then your smart lights.
  2. Plug them back in after 3 minutes.
  3. Restarting your phone might also help.

I have google nest mini & google home mini.  I have tried both and still when I ask google to add a list says it can not let me try to upload screenshot

As far as my lights I have smartlife led light bulbs that can change colors however the new update on google home app does not allow that

Hey there,

 

Apologies for the delay! Could you provide us with the latest firmware version of both your Google Home Mini and Nest Mini? Follow the steps below:

 

  1. Open the Google Home app Google Home app.
  2. Touch and hold your device's tile.
  3. Tap Settings  and then Device information.
  4. Under "Technical information," check for Cast firmware: "X.XXX.XXXXX." If the device is on Fuchsia, check for System firmware version: "X.XXXXXXXX.X.XXXXXXX"
