So got a Google home hub (or nest hub 1st edition) and a Google nest mini second edition and want to cast videos from YouTube to the nest hub and play the same music at the same time on the nest mini second gen speaker. I can't figure out how to make a speaker group on the home app and don't even know if it is possible to sync music between both devices while casting from my phone. What a crappy crap system. Further it always picks up the Chromecast as an option to form a group but not the nest mini. What a pain !

We haven't used speaker groups, but this is Google Nest's Help topic on creating and managing speaker groups:

Hi Vikrasvoras,
This is not the experience we want you to have, let me help you. A few things: is this the first time adding them to a speaker group? Are your Nest devices working individually? Have you had the chance to try the steps on the link provided above? How was it?
Since your Chromecast is the one always being picked up when creating a speaker group, try the steps below to remove it as the default device:
Once done, create a speaker group. See this link on how to.
Let me know how it goes.
Thanks for helping LifeBrosG1 and MplsCustomer.
Best,
Dan
