Cannot cast from YouTube to any speaker

I cannot cast any music from YouTube to any of my Google speakers (home or mini).

Every time I try, I get this message in YouTube saying 'untrusted device- device may have old firmware'. I cannot find any solution or resolution'. YouTube is up to date and so is everything else.

Everytime Google update any app, they seem to add some new feature but break at least 2-3 existing features. I think no one understands the concept of regression testing at Google. I would be grateful if anyone knows a working solution to this. Regards

Hi navee9,

YouTube is a video streaming service and Google Nest or Google Home speakers don't have a screen so this is why it doesn't work natively. From an Android device you can cast your device audio or you could also use a Bluetooth connection.

Hey there,

Thanks for the information Cathal_S.

navee9 Additional information, you can cast from any music enabled apps like YouTube music or Spotify to your Google Home speaker however if you're casting video apps like YouTube or Netflix it will not work. Just like what Cathal_S mention, you either cast only the audio using the Google Home app or used it as a Bluetooth speaker. Check this guide for more information.

Thanks,

Alex
