Hi, I hope someone can help me with this as i am going insane...
I originally purchased a Nest Thermostat and have had this set up on my iphone for some time and it works perfectly ok. I then decided to buy a Google Home Assist 3rd Gen and I set that up using my google account (this too seems to be working ok).
I then tried to add the Nest Thermostat device to the Google Home Assist account - I chose the option to SET UP A DEVICE - WORKS WITH GOOGLE. A list of devices then appears and I choose the Nest Thermostat device icon and here I get directed to the website home.nest.com. I attempt to log in using my Google account email address and password (I know my password and have checked this by logging in separately to both my Nest and Google accounts perfectly ok). But the Nest app will not allow me to log in - a message appears "Your email or password may be incorrect. You can Try again. If you've migrated your account or want to create a new one, sign in with Google".
Can anyone identify where I'm going wrong, or if I'm missing a trick here? I can't get around it. It seems I've bought a speaker device and cannot set up any items to command it to do for me atm.
Many thanks, Danni

You don't mention which thermostat you have, but if you installed it using the Google Nest app, you cannot "add" it to the Google Home app. Rather, it should automatically appear if you are using the same Google account for both apps and are accessing the same Google Nest "home/structure" in both apps. However, if you set up your Nest account before Aug. 19, 2019, you also need to "migrate" your Nest Account to a Google Account if you have not already done so.
