I have an 8 hour continuous white noise on Spotify that I cast to my Google mini. After several hours it will skip to my next song or playlist on Spotify. How do I get it to play the current item continuously? Why does it skip after several hours? When I tried to edit timer settings on Spotify to end after item ends (8 hours), I get a message indicating that “Connect will be unavailable while the sleep timer is running. I don’t see anywhere I can change this setting on Google Home.
Thanks

Hello Kkwan81,
Thanks for visiting the Community.
I know how it feels when you're having issues playing music on your Google Home Mini. I'd love to help! A few questions: when did the issue start? Are you trying to play music using voice commands or routines? Does this issue occur when playing regular songs or music? Have you experienced the same issue when playing white noise via the Spotify app?
Let's go ahead and try unlinking and re-linking your Spotify account from the Google Home app to see if that makes any difference.
Let me know how it goes.
Cheers,
Muddi

Hi! Thanks for your reply and sorry for not responding timely. To answer your questions:
The issue has always occurred when I am playing the 8 hour continuous white noise track on Spotify. It seems to cap it at 2 hours or so by skipping to the next track. It does't happen when I'm playing regular songs, I'm assuming it has to do with the length of the track.
I've yet to play it continuously for over 2 hours via the Spotify app but I suppose I can do so as a means to test to see ifs an issue with Spotify or Google Cast.
I've tried re-linking Spotify account to Google Home, it doesn't seem to have solved the issue.

Hey Kkwan81,
To confirm, does the same thing happen when you listen to white noise playlist from the Spotify app on your phone? Also, could you try other white noise playlist or relaxing sound on Spotify to see if you have the same issue.
Keep us posted.

Hi! Sorry I haven’t had the opportunity to test on another device for 2 hours. I will try to as soon as I can!

Hi there! I had the chance to test the 8 hour white noise track on Spotify via web browser and was able to play it continuously for over 2 hours. Where as when I cast to a Google mini it skips to the next track after around 2 hours. So it appears the skipping issue lies within the Google side. What are your thoughts? Thanks!

Hey Kkwan81,
Sorry for the delays. I appreciate your efforts. To confirm, do you have the same issues when listening to relaxing sounds straight from the Home Mini? Like when you say, "Hey Google, play white noise," does it skip tracks as well?

Muddi

No because it seems to only happen when I’m playing tracks that are over 2 hours long. When I ask hey Google play white noise, the tracks are short

Hello Kkwan81,
We got your form — we'd suggest keeping track of your inbox as our team will be emailing you soon for more details. By the way, did you turn on the shuffle on your white noise playlist? If yes, please disable it and check if your speaker will have the same behavior when playing the playlist.
