Hello,

is there a way how to change the ip adress of the google nest hub? It now has the same ip as my camera, so we have some connection issues.

thanks Dean

No, there isn't a way to do that for that device I'm afraid. In normal operation, your router should not issue the same IP address to multiple devices. I'd recommend checking your router settings. If you're not comfortable doing that, refer to it's support manual, specifically the DHCP section, or contact your Internet Service Provider for support.

If you've manually set that specific IP on the camera, rather than letting your router issue an IP address, you either need to change it to DHCP, or reserve out that IP address in your router's settings, so it knows not to issue that IP address to other devices.

Hello David, thanks for your quick reply.

most product have a webportal or something. But unfortunately this one has not. That would have been the best way. I am gonna find my way to solve it in another way.

If your router is set to assign IP addresses (DHCP), setting a static IP on devices isn't recommended as you may experience issues exactly like this one where 2 or more devices are trying to use the same IP address.

Hi folks,

Thanks again for helping here, davidking. DeanBos, I hope you've got the answer you're looking for. If you're still in need of any assistance, feel free to let us know. But what was stated above is correct when it comes to Nest devices. I'm glad you're able to find a different route that involves your camera IP. Hats off to you!

As we got our resolution here, I'm going to mark this thread as resolved. I'll be locking this thread if we won't hear back from you in 24 hrs. Should that happen, feel free to create a new one if you have more questions or have other concerns in the future.

Kind regards,

Dan
