Change order of castable devices? Remove some without removing device entirely?

I have been trying for a long time to use Spotify or YouTube Music PC client as my main music source.   I have two Google Nest Audios in stereo in my office.   Every time I try to stream to them (Connect to device) the devices listed are all TV and NVIDIA Shields elsewhere in my house.   Not only that, but each of the TVs and Shields have two entries (Google Cast and Spotify Connect).  But my Nest speakers never show up, nor does the Nest Hub Max screen that are literally feet from my PC.

I am on the same Wi-Fi as the speakers.   Google Wi-Fi hardware in the same office.

My phone Spotify *sometimes* shows the speakers, and sometimes not.   It will show my patio Nest Audio almost all the time, but not the ones I need.

How do you adjust this list of devices?   Almost all of the devices it gives me an option to cast to, I will never want to cast to from my PC.  I won't disable the other devices, because they are used when I'm not in my office on the PC.

Hi Chillhouse,

Thanks for visiting the Community.

We appreciate the details you've shared. Can you confirm if all the devices are connected either to 2.4 or 5GHz network? Also, how far are the Nest Audio from the router?

Best,

Princess

The other devices are 5GHz and on the same network (with Google Wifi).

Strangely, I turned off some of the devices, and my "connect to device" list is just shorter now, but no Google next speakers.

The speakers are in the same room as the router and the host Google Wifi.  Both speakers are within 6 feet from both.

Hi Chillhouse,

Thanks for the info. Have you tried to reboot your devices including the router? Let's go ahead and try to refresh your connection by simply unplugging all the Google Nest speakers as well as the router and let's see if this will make any changes.

Let me know how it goes.

Best,

Princess

I'm afraid rebooting them still doesn't seem to do anything.   My castable devices are only 4 devices now (another PC, a Google Nest Hub upstairs on the other side of the house, and my LG TV twice (Spotify Connect and Google Cast).

Neither of my Nest Audio speakers, nor my Nest Hub Max that are within feet of the PC are shown.

All of the devices show up just fine and on the same network on my Google Home app on my phone.

I reset both speakers and they seem to be working now.   I'm wondering if having them "paired" was causing any issues.

Thanks for your help.   Much appreciated.

Hi Chillhouse,

Thanks for the update. Glad to know that you got your device working again after a reset.

Keep your device close and monitor its behavior. Since this has been resolved, we'll go ahead and lock this thread and consider it complete. Feel free to start a new one if you need assistance with your Google Nest devices.

Cheers,

Princess
