Change my Wi-Fi password went to sign in to add the device back and it's saying I'm using the wrong password even though I'm not. So I changed it back to the old password and it still doesn't work. I factory reset the speaker. Reset my router. Still saying I'm putting in the wrong password. Does anybody know what the hell is going on? I contacted Google care and they were no help at all

Hey Kylej,

Thanks for bringing this up! I know how challenging it can be when you can't connect your device to your network, and we'd like to zero in on what's happening to your Google Home Mini. In order for us to eliminate network issue -- please try setting up your device using a mobile hotspot. Please note that you will need two mobile devices for this setup (one serve as a router and the other to be used to setup up your Google Home Mini).

Let me know how it goes.

Regards,

Muddi

Yes it works via Hotspot just not my network even though I set everything back to original.

Hi Kylej,

Appreciate the update. A few questions - are you using a dual-band router? What is the make and model of your phone? Have you tried using a different phone to set up your speaker? Are there other Google Home/Nest speakers that are working on the same network?

Please try these steps below:

  1. Go to phone settings and choose WiFi.
  2. Tap your network, then tap "Forget."
  3. Reboot your phone, then reconnect to your network once rebooted.
  4. Reset your Google Home Mini, then set it up again.

Keep us posted.

Cheers,

Muddi

IF you still have them I figured it out after changing my wifi router and starting an entirely new wifi setup. you need to factory reset the units and then add them as new devices to your google home app. it is a bit of a task if you have more than a few units but at least they are back up and running after a lot of frustration.

Hey SivDre,

Thanks for sharing those steps.

@Kylej: How's your Google Nest Mini? If you're still having issues connecting it to your network, you can try the steps shared by SivDre. Also, this looks like an issue with your network settings since your device is connecting to a mobile hotspot.

Looking forward to your response.

Thanks for sharing everyone but I gave them away and went with Alexa and I like it much better. Incase anyone else is having issues, give the echo a try you may find out you like it better. Sorry I tried to work something out with Google and they wouldn't even send me 1 new nest mini to try it, nothing.
