Hi all!
I have a Chromecast 2ª gen., a Nest Audio and a projector. I would like to be able to use my Chromecast to stream Netflix to my projector but stream the audio from Nest Audio.
Does anyone know if it is possible to do this?
Thanks!

Unfortunately there isn't a way to do what you'd like. I sure wish that was a capability, but it would require an MP4 stream as well an mp3 stream to perfectly sync up.
As great as a feature it would be, Google doesn't have a way to split the audio out of an MP4 and stream it to a separate device.

Hey folks,
I can confirm that this feature is not available on the Google Home/Nest devices. We're always looking for ways to improve -- we'll take this as feedback, and we'll gladly pass it along to the team. You can also send feedback using your device by saying, "Hey Google, send feedback." Visit this link for more steps.
Let us know if you have additional questions or concerns about your device. Otherwise, I'll lock the thread after 24 hours.
Cheers,
Muddi

Hi @GothamNY thanks for your answer. I tried that, I already have my Nest Audio assigned as the default audio device, and my Chromecast as the default video device. The problem is that it doesn't play the sound of the movie (for example) on Nest Audio and the video on Chromecast at the same time. Any other idea?

Thanks for your answer. And do you know if it is possible to do it with another version of chromecast?

It's not possible, @SoontobeApple explained it perfectly -- it's a question that's asked frequently, and a search will probably turn up tons of similar questions, lol. The long and short is what you want to do requires splitting the video and audio feeds no Chromecast has the capability. The best option is to buy a soundbar.

"The best option is to buy a soundbar." I did exactly the same and having same issue when connected both Chromecast and sound bar with built-in Chromecast to the same group.
I can do that for music but not for videos (while playing video selecting group is not even available). As for me it looks like just a feature which is not implemented for video. Also, as for splitting audio and video and adding synchronisation, there is even option "Group delay correction".
As for me both devices should download same stream over wifi, Home app should instruct Chromecast to play video only and Sound bar with built-in Chromecast to play audio only, and if I'm as a user see sync issue I can setup it with group delay.

I'm even ready to have 2 same Chromecast devices (one in projector and another in sound bar) if this feature will be exclusively available to Google devices only.
