Company firewall blocking google nest connection to the internet

Hi,

I have a few google nest hub in my company for IoT implementation and I tried to link it thru my Google Home app but due to the firewall implementation. The google nest is not able to link up to the internet due to blocking. I can still surf the internet using browser from my company's network so its not an internet issue. Appreciate your help to advice on what are the domains or ip addresses or port number that google nest are using so that I can advice my IT dept to unblock to allow my google nest connection to the google server for its functionality.

Hey there,
Sorry for the late response, but I wanted to drop in here to help.

I understand that these issues can be confusing but I definitely wanted to stop by and see how I could help.

Just wanted to double check to see if you were still needing help on this? If so, what troubleshooting steps have you tried?

Please let me know.

Best regards,
Garrett DS

Hi Garreet,

I'm having similar issues with the nest mini and home app. Do you know what needs to be allowed on our firewall to get the device working?

Thanks,

Ronnie Chin

Hey there,

Unfortunately as I'm not an IT tech, I don't know what setting you'd have to change in order for your company firewall to allow access to the devices. If it's a company owned network, unfortunately, the devices don't have the capability to enter in a password or code to gain access.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Best regards,

Garrett DS
