Connect Nest Audio to a traditional AVR via its RCA connections

We have an AVR setup with radio, TV, Bluray, CD, Roku, etc. all going through the AVR. I'm looking for a transmitter that I can connect to the surround speaker output so that I can use a pair of Nest Audio speakers as the surround pair. There are bazillions of bluetooth transmitters, but nothing WiFi that will work with the Nest Audio.

Hi bpglueguy,

Thanks for posting.

To confirm, are you trying to use your Nest Audio as an output speaker for your other devices? I do need to set your expectations that the 2 Nest Audio's that you have there don't have that kind of function. You can connect it to a device with a bluetooth function and still it may or may not work depending on their compatibility. Is your Nest Audio already working and is responding to voice commands? If so, are you able to have it play music?

Keep me posted.

Best,

Dan

We have a "traditional" AVR/TV with 2.0 wired speaker setup, and I wanted to add surround sound capability with a couple of wireless surround speakers. The configuration of the room makes it impractical to run wires to the surround speakers, so I am looking for a way to do it wirelessly. In effect, I want to end up with a 4.0 system.

I doubt that we would use the Nest Audio for other purposes, as we would probably get battery-powered BT speakers for other places.

Hey there,

I totally understand that these are good features to use with your Nest Audio, but, these features are not yet available. I'd suggest you submit a feedback about it. Let us know if you have other questions and concerns otherwise, we will be locking this thread after 24 hours.

Thanks,

Dan
