Connect external bluetooth speaker from my Nest Audio using my Ipad.

I want to play music on my bluetooth speaker from my Nest Audio using my Ipad. I cant get it to work, even though i follow all the steps in the guide. Can my Ipad not be connected to both Nest and Speaker? Should the speaker be connected to ipad when I start? Why does the Nest Audio not accept my speaker as a default speaker when I try to choose it?

Google support helped me. The problem was that my Ipad was connected to the speaker, so the google home app could not connect

Hello Gunnevi,

Thanks for reaching out —let me help you out.

While you can stream audio from a Google Nest speaker or display to a preferred Bluetooth speaker, you can only connect one Bluetooth speaker to your iPad at a time.

You have to pair and connect your Nest Audio and Bluetooth speaker first doing the steps below.  Also, all media playback will play on the external speaker that’s paired with your Nest Audio. Alarms, timers, and Google Assistant responses will still play on your Nest speaker.

  1. Turn on the Bluetooth device and make sure it’s in pairing mode. Customers may need to press the pairing button on the Bluetooth device, if the device has a dedicated pairing button.
  2. Open the Google Home app .
  3. Select the speaker or display.
  4. At the top-right, tap settings > Audio > Default music speaker.
  5. Tap Pair Bluetooth speaker. The speaker or display scans for Bluetooth devices.
  6. Tap the device once it appears on the screen. The Bluetooth device pairs with the speaker or display.
  7. Tap Done.

Looking forward to your response.

Regards,

Alex
