Connected Nest Audio to Bluetooth but i cannot hear any audio

Device: Windows 11 PC

Since i purchased the Nest Audio product, i was happy with the product but a week after the purchase i had issues connecting the device to my PC, When i remove all paired devices on both devices and then connected them again, After google assistant says: "This device is already connected to:" Before it said the name of the device i called it, It instantly disconnects from the PC. This was starting to really bug me. It bugged me to the point where i restarted both the Nest audio and the PC to just wait 1 minute for literal sound. And then "something good" happened! I finally connected it to Bluetooth without problems! It said "Connected, Music" where that meant i connected it and it should play some sounds. But when i played a YouTube video, I didn't hear any sound at all, I tried playing the volume to 50% but no sound. I tried making the sound play from the device itself instead of the monitor, it didn't work. I tried telling it to unmute sound, It didn't work. I tried unmuting it my sliding up the volume of the device in the settings of the PC, But it stayed on 0% no matter how hard i try, Not sure if its the PCs fault or the Nest Audio, but either way, I cannot connect it properly.

So in conclusion, I cannot connect the Nest Audio to Bluetooth properly.

Thanks 🙂

I have the same problem, this thing does not work.
Google sells unfinished products, I bought it to use it as a bluetooth speaker for my Windows 11 PC and it doesn't work. I have the exact same issue you described. Google fix it now!

This is actually true. But a few months ago, nest audio perfectly works for me as speaker bluetooth to my pc, even on the lock screen I can hear it connected to the nest. but not now. I tried many times to unpair and pair it, looking for better bluetooth app on my PC, if you check it, it is connected to the nest audio, but it does not connect as bluetooth speaker, thats why nest audio is not showing on the playback device.

Now I regret buying it, hard to connect as bluetooth speaker, you need internet to do all things, and the casting even from google chrome playing youtube, its like delayed 3 seconds?

Just let us connect it as bluetooth device and just update the software pls google.

its automatic

Find a way to make it showing on the playback device is the key. Make it works!

My pc is not connected to wifi, but via a cable connection to a wifi extender. I think this has something to do with the nest not playing audio, while actually being connecting to the pc. How can i fix this without buying new hardware??

I dont think so. The only way to connect pc to nest audio is thru bluetooth. even the nest not connected to wifi, it should work.

Yes please. I've paired Nest mini to my laptop (Windows 10). It comes up as "connected music". It won't play sounds from my laptop as I would expect a bluetooth-paired device to do

Please help with a fix.

Thanks,

Khilan

I am facing the exact same issue. It's a Nest wifi point in my case. It shows as connected to my iPhone. However, it won't play any sound/music from my iPhone. I have tried unpairing and pairing again without success. This used to work 2 weeks ago, when I bought and used it for the first time.

Thanks,

Sachin

I think you need to fully reset on the nest wifi and on the iphone. Or try use android device or use bluestack on pc as android device to setting or control. Hope that works

Thanks Safakash, I didn't get to try what you suggested. However, here is what worked for me finally. I plugged off the cable end going into the wifi point (not the one into the power outlet in the wall), waited for 2 minutes, and paired again on bluetooth. That's it!

For anyone who is facing the similar problem, here is what worked for me finally. I plugged off the cable end going into the wifi point (not the one into the power outlet in the wall), waited for 2 minutes, and paired again on bluetooth. That's it!

Nevertheless, these workarounds are suboptimal from the user experience perspective, and I hope to see better from Google hardware.

I have the same issue.

I got my nest a few days ago and connected it to my pc via bluetooth without any issues and had it playing sounds from it.

Then later the same day i wanted to use it as speakers again but it just wouldnt show up as an audio device on my pc - even though it was connected via bluetooth.

tried everything stated here. still not working.

Have you tried to repair it but start unpair it on the HOME app via your phone? if you unpair on the pc, it wont be unpairing on the nest device to the pc. Try to unpair it on both device.

Unpair, restart nest and Bluetooth device on pc, then repair it.

I have same issue but not always be like that.
