Connecting my phone to nest mini thru Bluetooth Only

I don't have internet at home , only my mobile data which nest doesn't recognise when I hotspot. So id like to coneect via Bluetooth but cannot for the life of me figure it out. I just want to play music on it from my phone

Google speakers and displays need an internet connection so that you can use the Google Home app or a voice command to enable Bluetooth pairing mode.

Can I not use my phone's hotspot as an internet connection? We don't have wifi at home .

While Google doesn't recommend this some users have used this option.

You might need another mobile device to configure the connection with the hotspot as nit all mobile devices can create a hotspot and also connect with that hotspot.

Hey Angelreyne,

Thanks for coming back to us. Please be aware that in order to connect your phone to your Nest Mini, you will still need an internet connection. The speaker cannot function offline. If you wish to set up your Nest Mini using a mobile hotspot, you will need two mobile devices for this process. One device will act as a router, while the other will be used to set up your Google Nest Mini.
