Constantly saying sorry there's been a problem, try in a few seconds

This first started about 5 weeks ago this started glitching, and continues to be a problem and big annoyance. Every time I ask it to play something, ask a question, or anything really (even to turn off) it sits with the four dots solid and then eventually says that it experienced a glitch try again in a few seconds, I then repeat this cycle five more times usually until it finally works the way it should. I tried unplugging and plugging it in multiple times and it didn't help. Considering trashing this and buying another company's product since it was working fine for so long now all of a sudden it is not. This is no longer a convenience to my lifestyle at all, more of an inconvenience, is there any hope for this thing to work as it had been?

Received best hub 2nd generation as replacement yesterday, installed today and problems are the same as previous mini 1st generation. Any help would be appreciated, or recommendation of another product that would be more reliable, thank you.

4 Nest thermostats in house, no issues. No issues with any computers, cell phones, televisions, other company speaker, or anything else when using them..... Only these dang Google home speakers, even after multiple soft and hard resets. Seems to be a Google problem that they don't care to fix... Maybe this problem is related to the Sonos patents?

Hey folks,

Thanks for sharing details about the issue here. I understand the feeling when you're having issues with your Nest Hub (2nd gen). To further isolate the issue, please try setting up your device using a mobile hotspot. Please note that you will need two mobile devices for this setup (one will serve as a router and the other to be used to set up your Nest Hub device).

Let me know how it goes.

Cheers,

Muddi

Hi Muddi, this is not possible, I've never used my phones as a hot spot before and to fix this issue there should be more done by google, not me the end user, especially if they want people to purchase their products. I'm due for a new phone and the samsung is looking more attractive each day I have issues with this google home product. Appreciate your effort though.

Hey Bran1501,

I totally understand that troubleshooting can be frustrating, but connecting your speaker to a different network is the most helpful step to figure out what's going on with your device. Let's give them a try!

@GoranK : Thanks for sharing the steps! It's a big help!

Cheers,

Muddi

Over a week now four devices in my house and two devices in my parents house... more than half the time when you ask it to do something "there was a glitch try again later" or "something went wrong". Uninstall them and factory reset them all.  Still happening. It is clear there is a problem with Google. This is getting extremely frustrating multiple devices multiple locations no problem with the networks.  I know several other people this is happening to as well.

I had the same problem started Saturday and my Google speaker was not responding to me for 4 days. What I did is to call the isp and make them reset the modem. This is not the same as turning it off and on again. After the modem reset, the google speakers started to work immediately and responding to my commands on the first ask.  Try this solution.

You can reallize that you have this problem related also to speaker if you encounter also problems viewing Web or app contents via app example showing paritialy content in various apps or if you test the speed on okla app and connection takes more than a couple of seconds to the test server.

Try reseting the modem by calling the provider.

I have 6 home hubs and there are all displaying this problem.

when i issue a command most of tmge time i get one or many of the speakers say there was a glitch. Sometimes they say this even when they havent been spoken to. They are also very slow to respond.

i have tried factory reseting them all, removed ipv6 etc to no avail. The internet is solid 80/20 i can stream 4k movies, alexa works fine. This issue only cropped up in the lats month or so, what is going on?

Hello to all. Today I have managed to solve the problem

I remember that it's not a first time I had such problem. You can also check if your phone has some kind of problem displaying contents on the Web like displaying a paritialy content. For example I had also problems with applications like booking, best secret, Amazon.... The applications sometimes displayed paritialy content.

So, today I called the Internet provider and ask them to reset and reboot the modem. This procedure is not the same as plugging off the device and turning on again.

After the reboot was done and modem was initiated, the Google nest mini started to work without problems and now answer my commands.

If you encounter such problems I described, contact your isp and let them reset the modem. My speaker didn't work since Saturday....

Let me know if you solved your problem following this procedure. Good luck.

I guess I can try this, but all my other devices are operating normal without issues...so I find it very difficult to believe that the modem is the issue....unless somehow the google products are inferior to apple, LG, sonos, and Dell. My chromebook and nest thermostats have no experienced ANY problems, nor has my pixel phone....so again, to say it's the modem....I'm finding it very difficult to believe
