Continue=Reset ???

It appears someone has crossed wires between Alarms and media playing.

Saying stop not only stops the alarm but also apparently the media from playing. After awhile I notice that it is not playing so I say "OK Google,  continue." And Google responds "OK resetting timer for [the original time.]" How in the heck does continue = resetting? 

Most products improve over time not continuously get worse. 

I'm experiencing other errors as well so I'll be looking into a replacement.

I’m sorry for the inconvenience that you’ve been experiencing with your speaker. I understand that you ask the speaker to change to the next song, but it does something completely different than that. No worries, help is here. 

 

In order to give you the correct information for your device, I need some extra information. Here are some questions for you:

  • When did the issue start?
  • What is the model of your Nest speaker?
  • What are the other errors that you are receiving?
  • What troubleshooting steps have you taken?
  • When did you buy the device?

 

In the meantime, you can try the next:

  1. Activate the personal results following the next steps:
    1. Open the Google Home App and go to settings.
    2. Hit on Google Assistant and then go to personal results.
    3. Follow the in-app steps.
  2. Check the assistant language:
    1. Open the Google Home App and go to settings.
    2. Then go to Manage all settings, and then tap on Languages.
    3. Hit on Choose languages for speaking to your assistant, and then select the current language set.
  3. Reboot your speaker.
  4. Reboot your wifi router.
