One of the main reasons for purchasing this for the kitchen was to be able to access my recipes without using a phone or tablet which kept turning off, don't automatically go back to the recipe when you ask the assistant a question and is not great to have to touch with food on your hands.

I have all my recipes in drive and books and am so disappointed that I can't access them from this device, even if I cast my screen to view a recipe I still have to continue using my phone/tablet which whilst coming is not convenient.

Ok some sleep and a few more tries and I accessed both drive and books by opening a web page.

When I tried to open books though it says they can't be opened and both drive and books freezes constantly, is this normal or am I missing something again?

Thanks for reaching out and sorry for the trouble this has caused you. 

While opening a web page on the Nest Hub isn't officially supported, you can directly ask your device to find and make your favorite recipes using step-by-step instructions from the Assistant on Google Nest and Google Home speakers and displays. Check this link for more information.
