Curious to know?

Seems Google have stopped replies on this thread

https://www.googlenestcommunity.com/t5/Speakers-and-Displays/Each-mini-has-a-mind-of-it-s-own/m-p/26...
I have just replied to an email (just the standard reponse email from Google) with the following

Following on from the devices unable to tell on from off, I now ask it to just 'switch the device' Then it generally looks to see what state it is in, and switches from that state.

Recently now when I ask that, it tells me about looking for apps in my phone????? 😞
Second time of asking, it does as it is has been asked.

I swear you are programming my devices purely to do this? :-(, I cannot believe other devices behave this way, else we would have heard more about it.

So now I am asking, does anyone else get these problems with their google minis?. I have 4 and they all do it.

1. Ask it to switch something OFF and it answers 'switching device ON'
2. Ask it to set an alarm, say 10:15, and it responds 'setting alarm for 3pm'
3. Ask it to 'switch device' (this is to overcome issue 1) and it gives me dialogue about searching the apps in my phone, Ask a second time and it obeys. Generally a lot of requests have to be asked a second time, as I get a load of nonsense on the first request.
4. Ask the mini next to my bed (when in bed) the time, and the one on the landing way outside the bedroom answers. The one in the bedroom will actually say 'Hmm there appears to be a problem, try again later' sometimes. If it does answer, it is way behind the response of the landing mini.
5. Sitting in the living room, with the mini just behind me, and ask it something. The one in the kitchen responds even with the living room door shut? I have even reduced the sensitivity of that kitchen mini?, and it still does it.
Please bear in mind I have not been 'tweaking' these minis, just using as they came. It is they that decide to change the way they do things. 😞

So, would be keen to know if others suffer these issues?

About all they have managed to do correctly for me consistently, is give the  correct time, whether it is the speaker being spoken to is the one giving the response or not.

TIA

Hi Juni,

I was just curious to know who else has these type of problems?

I cannot believe my 4 out of all those sold are the only ones?. They were not even bought at the same time, so not same batch?

I was gifted one, then bought two and then another one much later.

Lock the thread by all means, if you do not want people to report their similar issues?

Hi Juni,

No this thread was to see if others were having the same trouble I get all the time?

No one at Google has been able to get to the bottom of my problems.

EG this morning. Bedroom mini was playing Radio 2 from a routine I have setup to start playing at 6AM. This it did.

I had set an alarm for 9AM, but was fully awake at 08:20, so decide to get up then. So I said to the mini 'Cancel Alarm'. Now normally they will say 'your alarm for 9AM is cancelled'.

Today it decided to just stop the music.?
So I had to issue the command again. It seems these daya that every command has to be asked twice, to get what you are asking for?

I do not leave the alarm set, as although Google have told me that the alarm only runs for 20 minutes, all mine run until they are told to stop. So if I forget and go out for a few hours, when I come back the alarm is still going.

I genuinely wanted to hear what problems other people were having?

BTW, in adding my last post I was asked by a popup if I would answer a survey, to which I said Yes.
At the end of the survey I received the page with the contents below

Hey Gasman,

It looks like this is an isolated issue. I'll go ahead and lock the thread now since you already have an open case. It is best if we continue this through that channel so we can provide an update immediately.

Feel free to create a new one if you have more questions or have other concerns in the future.

Cheers,

Muddi
