Dark overlay on nest display

Anyone else experienced a dark overlay on their nest hub display?

I’ve only noticed it recently but it covers most of the screen with a small bit on the right edge still “normal”.

I’ve tried restoring to factory settings and setting up again and it’s still present.
Everything else on the device is still working so not sure what the problem is or how to solve it.

Hi @xannikinsx,

Thanks for reaching out to the community. I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing a dark overlay on your Google  Nest Hub because most of your screen is covered by it, with only a small normal portion on the right edge. I appreciate the troubleshooting steps you've already tried to resolve this. No worries, I'd be more than glad to assist you. To help with that, I have a few questions for you:

  • When did the behavior start?
  • Was your Google Nest Hub dropped or knocked over?
  • What's the firmware version of your Google Nest Hub? Please visit the next article to find your device's firmware version.
Any additional details you can provide will be helpful.

Regards,
Jonathan

Hi @sicsacol ,

Thank you for getting back. Here are the answers to your questions:

  • I’m not 100% sure when the behaviour started. I noticed it a few weeks ago but not sure if it was a problem prior to that.
  • The Hub has never been dropped or knocked over and has remained in the same location since I bought it 18 months ago.
  • System firmware version: 26.20250116.103.2900
  •
Cast firmware: 3.76.463359
