Different volume on one speaker of paired speakers

  • I want one of my Paired Google nest speakers to have louder volume. One of them  has to be farther away from us and we want it louder. I cannot change the volume on one of the speakers without turning it up on both. It's really frustrating. Please help.

Hey tulipnancy,

Welcome to the Google Nest Community Forum.

Please note that when speakers are paired, all media controls (for example: play, pause, next, previous, volume control) control the speaker pair, not individual speakers. Also, sound settings apply to the speaker pair and can't be changed on individual speakers. To change individual settings, unpair the speakers using the steps below:

  1. Open the Google Home app Google Home app.
  2. Tap the speaker pair.
  3. At the top right, tap Settings  and then Audio and then Stereo pair and then Separate speaker pair and then Separate.
