Different wake words?

When will we be able to use different wake words?  I currently can't use my Nest mini because if I say "Hey Google" the Nest, my phone, and my tablet all respond.  It's making me think it was a waste of money to buy the Nest.  I wanted to replace our Alexa, but that's really not possible now.  Thank you!

Only your Nest Mini should respond. There's a good article with some things to check:

As for changing the wake word, that's a long standing feature request. I’d encourage you to also send this feedback directly to Google. You will not receive a response, unless Google need more details from you, however the team are still reading the feedback.

Thank you.  Unfortunately, that didn't work.  Thanks anyway!

@HateSigningIn

Are your Nest Mini, your phone, and your tablet all in the same "home" in the Google Home app?

Well, it's not letting me add any phones/tablets.  There are things like smart thermostats, light bulbs, tvs, but not phone and tablet.  They're all on my same Google account, FWIW.

I should have thought through my comment a bit more. Of course you can't specify a "home" for your phone or tablet. However, is possible that your phone and tablet are on a different Wi-Fi network than your Nest Mini?

We don't have Google Assistant enabled on our phones or tablets, and so they never respond to "Hey Google".

My tablet is usually on the same network, but my phone is often on my cell provider's network.  I guess at this point I'll just have to hope Google gets around to allowing different wake words.  Thank you for trying!
