Does Nest Audio Ambient EQ require the microphone to be enabled?

I currently have 4 Nest Audio speakers and order another 4 speakers. They sound great, and I normally keep mic off, because I have other Nest devices to speak into, to control devices. Does the Ambient EQ still adjust to what type of music I'm playing, even if microphone is off?

Thanks for posting here in the Google Nest Community.

I wanted to follow up and see if I could be of any help. Ambient EQ is a feature for Nest display. Are you talking about Night mode to adjust the brightness of your Nest audio lights or adjusting the sound settings for the equalizer?
