Does Nest Hub Sleep sensing work through a body pillow?

So I recently got a Nest Hub and tried out the sleep-sensing feature. It worked! But, I tend to sleep with a body pillow, which blocks my chest and torso. Can Soli go through the pillow or can I not use it?

Any objects between you and the device can cause inaccurate data or no data to be recorded at all. Try these steps:

  1. Check that your Nest Hub is within 1 foot (30 cm) of the height of your mattress, and that it’s within arm’s reach and facing your torso when you’re lying in bed.
  2. Recalibrate Sleep Sensing when no one else is in the room, including pets:
    1. On your Nest Hub display screen, swipe up from the bottom.
    2. Tap the settings cog >  Sleep Sensing > Calibrate device > follow the steps.

If after the recalibration you still experience issues, I think that firmly answers your question unfortunately.

Update: apparently, the Hub thinks I'm snoring. I re-calibrated it so that my breathing is normal, but it still does.
I just moved the body pillow a bit down, and that fixed the issue.

So apparently it does. I didn't believe it, and I even breathed in so little that my belly barely moved. Still worked!
