I have my speakers (both 1st gen and 2nd gen) connected to my Hello Doorbell. The notification rings on the speakers. While it works it is too slow to be practical.
I need to respond quickly when I cannot open immediately. Especially delivery people will leave quickly if there is no response.
To answer via doorbell audio the actions are; doorbell rings, electronic chime goes of, delay, speaker notification triggers. Then I need to open the (loading), click on the video (loading), press 'talk button'.
This sequence can take quite some time. And I also need to have my phone ready to open the app.
This slowness effectively makes the function quite useless to quickly respond to people at the door.
Questions :
- Is there any way to minimize the delay on the notification playing on the Nest speakers?
- And is there a way to respond by talking via doorbell quicker?
- Is a Nest hub any faster? Can I expect (near) immediate response on the hub? It would be great to have ring and video + audio instantly like with a classic house intercom system.
- Does it matter for responding time a Nest Hub is on Wifi or Ethernet?
