EZVIZ Cameras connected to Google Home, but always OFF

Hello, 

I connected Google Home app to Ezviz App to control two cameras (both with voice and app). I was able to connect both cameras and add them to a room. I can find my cameras in the device list, but every time I select a camera, Google Home says that the camera is OFF. Very annoying, I can only use my camera from EZVIZ app. Please help. Thanks!

Hi Beppe,

I have a lot of devices including these EZVIZ cameras.
(I'm in Italy and I use Italian integration).

Make sure you have disabled the "encrypted image" option in each camera's settings (in the EZVIZ app).

The functionality of being able to view video streams from cameras and some doorbells in the "favorites" section of the Home app was recently introduced.

For EZVIZ cameras, it is possible to view the video stream in the Home app only when the camera is in "alarm active" mode (when the alarm in case of motion detection is armed).

When the alarm and motion notification mode is not active, the EZVIZ cameras are turned off in the Google Home app, and it seems that it is not possible to turn them on from the app.

You can still ask a Google Home device to turn on the camera, and in this case it will enable the motion detection feature, giving you the ability to view the video stream in the Home app.

I must confirm, to access the cameras it is mandatory the motion detection alarm is set. Otherwise, no video will be streamed. I also confirm that it is possible to switch on the cameras using the voice also, using a google home device. Many thanks! Now I'm trying to include the camera activation in a automation.

What kind of automation are you trying to integrate the camera into?

Because actually when I try to create an automation it doesn't let me select that camera.

Personally I solved it by creating a routine based on a script.
In this way I made sure that based on the presence or absence of people in the house the camera went from the alarm state on to the alarm off state.

That's a good idea, and it is similar to the one I'm setting up. I really don't know how to do it with a script. I set up a routine that I start saying "the house is empty" or "I'm leaving" (I'm from Italy too, so it's it's in Italian 😉 ) and it switches off all the lights, set the valves to 17°, ...  I added a custom command "switch on the cameras", and it works. I don't know how to check the presence of people at home

In che senso "non so come verificare la presenza di persone in casa"?

Allora nelle impostazioni dell'applicazione Home trovi "Monitoraggio della presenza di persone".

Configurandolo la casa potrà usare la posizione dei telefoni partecipanti per definire se c'è qualcuno o meno.

Nelle automazioni A Casa e Fuori Casa purtroppo si possono inserire soltanto alcuni tipi di dispositivi, e le videocamere di EZVIZ non sono supportate.

Se tu vorresti fare in modo che quando tutti sono fuori casa la videocamera attiva le notifiche di allarme e quando la prima persona rientra esse vengano disattivate, ho una soluzione che sto provando anche io e che sembra essere molto efficace.

Ciao, certo, certo, assolutamente. Al momento, come ti dicevo, uso una routine che scateno richiamandola tramite l'assistente, ma se hai una soluzione automatica, molto meglio. Onestamente avevo provato a configurare le routine fuori casa/a casa ma non ero riuscito, mi chiedeva obbligatoriamente un dispositivo NEST, che non ho. Tra le azioni, effettivamente, non è possibile selezionare come dispositivo le telecamere, io ho ovviato inserendo un comando personalizzato al fondo "accendi le telecamere", un po' come se lo pronunciassi, insomma. Aspetto dunque la tua soluzione, sono curioso, grazie!

Dunque per prima cosa, anche se l'applicazione dice che non hai un dispositivo Nest (e quindi non ti fa gestire le automazioni A Casa e Fuori), andando in impostazioni e poi "Monitoraggio della presenza di persone" ti è possibile configuare la modalità di geolocalizzazione?

Thanks Melany, actually, Google Home currently can see the position of my phone only. For the phones of the rest of the family, under the name, it says: "Access to position not active". I went through my wife's phone settings, but I couldn't find the option.

• Family Members in Google Home: Make sure everyone in your household is invited to your Google Home as a member. This is done through the Home app's settings. Follow these steps to share a home & devices in the Google Home app.
• Presence Sensing: In the Google Home app, go to Settings > Presence Sensing. Enable "Allow this home to use phone locations". Visit our Help Center to learn more about presence sensing and how to manage your data. 
• Individual Phone Settings: Each family member needs to enable location sharing for the Google Home app on their phone. This might be under the app's permissions in their phone settings.

Ciao, dunque ho capito che sei riuscito a configurare il monitoraggio della presenza di persone.

Allora come dicevamo non si riesce a procedere tramite le normali automazioni A Casa e Fuori.

Quello che ho fatto è stato creare un'automazione basata su script.

Per prima cosa devi, tramite le impostazioni dell'app Home, partecipare al programma anteprima.
Le automazioni basate su script sono visualizzabili in app soltanto partecipando alla modalità anteprima.

Per configuare una di queste automazioni, dopo aver aderito al programma anteprima, vai su Google Home per il Web all'indirizzo home.google.com.

Qui è possibile visionare le videocamere (solo quelle Nest) ma anche creare le automazioni basate su script.
Clicca su atomazioni, poi aggiungi nuova.

Si aprirà una finestra in cui inserire lo script.
A destra vi è la sezione per creare uno script automaticamente scrivendo ciò che vorresti ottenere.

Prova a scrivere "quando tutti sono fuori casa, accendi (nome che hai datto alla videocamera)".

Copia e incolla lo script nella finestra.

Esegui la verifica e salva l'automazione.

Se hai attivato la modalità anteprima dell'app Home, anche in tale app potrai visionare e modificare questa automazione.

Da app potrai anche avviare manualmente l'automazione, proprio come per le normali automazioni.
In questo modo puoi testarne il funzionamento.

Alla fine dovresti creare anche l'automazioe opposta, ovvero scrivendo nel generatore di script una cosa del tipo "quando la prima persona arriva a casa, spegni (nome che hai dato alla videocamera)".

Grazie! Ho capito cosa intendi per script. Sono iscritto al programma Anteprima, ma le mie telecamere non sono Nest, purtroppo, quindi non me le vede. Per ora sto ovviando inserendo dei comandi custom (come se pronunciassi io il comando) che accendono/spengono le telecamere. Adesso devo comprendere come attivare la verifica della posizione anche sui telefoni del resto della famiglia, attualmente in home mi dice "Accesso alla posizione non attivo"

Allora anche se non sono telecamere Nest è comunque possibile utilizzare un'automaziome basata su script.

Quando apri l'editor di script da google home per il web, c'è una sezione chiamata scripting assistito.

Li puoi descrivere un comportamento desiderato.

Se provi a scrivere "quanto tutti sono fuori casa accendi (nome della telecamera in app home)" ti dovrebbe creare uno script che dovrebbe funzionare.

Quando dici che non trova le telecamere intendi che creando po script non viene trovata la telecamera?

Eventualmente se non riesci a creare lo script posso incollare qua quello che ho creato io, e ti basterebbe solo inserire il nome che hai dato alla tua videocamera in app home e infine incollarlo nella sezione apposita.
