my device lost connection to internet. Was having trouble establishing connection. So I did a factory reset. Now it says have pervious owner remove from there account. I have owned this for years. Have been using it with no problems until now.

It seems your device is still linked to the previous owner's account. Try contacting customer support for the device or platform—they can help unlink it. Have proof of ownership ready, just in case.

You may be getting that previous owner message if the factory reset was NOT successful. It seems that when you try to install a Google Nest device that still has previous settings, Google Nest is unable to tell that it is YOUR account it is still attached to.
Did you get a verification from your Nest Hub Max that it was doing a factory reset?
