Feature Request: Ability to instruct Nest Device to play specific music remotely

Per support Case ID [2-4203000033166] Google Nest devices cannot be instructed to play a specific music song remotely without voice commands, unless connected/casted-to via bluetooth (turning the device into a simple bluetooth speaker). Devices such as the Amazon Echo allow this functionality, but Google Nest devices do not.

Please allow the ability for Google Nest devices to be able to be instructed to play a specific music song remotely.

Scenario 1: Non-verbal people and children have no ability to instruct their Google Nest devices to play a specific song. Google Nest devices can only be instructed via voice commands.

Scenario 2: Google Nest device is at Home. I am at Work. I would like to remotely instruct my Google Nest device to play a specific song at my house.

Scenario 3: Child is going to sleep a few rooms away from me outside of bluetooth range. I cannot tell my Google Nest device in the room with the child to play a specific song.

Options:

1) Grant access to an API that allows sending an instruction to the Google Nest device to play a specific song.

2) Allow song selection in the Google Home application.

3) Allow external applications (Apple Music, etc) to be able to instruct a Google Nest device, like devices such as the Amazon Echo device allow.

Thanks.

Hey Orbishal,

Thanks for reaching out. While you can create custom routines for your Google Nest devices, we don't have a way to remotely play songs on your devices without being connected to the same network. We're always looking for ways to improve and we'll take it as feedback. I also suggest that you send feedback using your devices by saying, "Hey Google, send feedback," or by following the steps on this link. Let me know if I can assist with anything else, otherwise I’ll be locking this thread after 24 hours.

Best,

Alex
