Feit Flood Light

Recently my feit flood light stopped working with google. I'm pretty good with all these devices, but for the life of me cant get it to work again. It's still working in the feit app, but google says the light doesn't support that functionality now. I've deleted it from Google home and the feit app, factory reset the light and added it again, tried syncing my devices. Just about everything i can think of. Feit has been zero help. Anyone jave any idea what i could try next? Thanks

That certainly hasn't been easy for you — let's check this out.

 

What's the exact command you've used in controlling your lights? Try rebooting your lights, Google Home and router to refresh the connection. If the issue persist, try resetting your Google Home to its default settings.

I could, but not now. I can however still control it in the feit app. Google now says "light doesn't support this action" .

Thanks for coming back to us. Just an added question: what's the exact command you've used in controlling your lights? Is it working before? Could you try using the Google Assistant app on your phone and check if you will have the same issue.

Asking google to turn the back porch light off or on. Yes on my phone it still says it doesn't have that functionality.

Thanks for that added information. Please try these commands: "Hey Google, switch on/off porch light." Also, have you tried calling Feit to check if they're getting similar reports?

Switching commands give the same results. I contacted feit before coming here. The light worked perfectly fine for 2 months before this started happening or I would just return the thing.

Hey MWA80,

 

Got it! To confirm, have you checked with Feit support if your lights are still supporting voice commands? Do you have other smart lights working on your Google Home device? The respond that you're getting from your speaker and Google Assistant app on your phone is very specific and looks like it has something to do with the light itself.

Feit said nothing about the light not supporting voice commands, so I'd assume that not an issue. I do have many other lights and devices on my system. All of which work perfectly. I thought that may be the case as well, but it works perfectly fine in the native feit app. So that lead me to believe it was something on the google side, but im not 100%. Thanks for your help anyway. I can put the fixture i had there before i guess. Only reason i got the feit was for the brightness of the flood lamp really. Just seemed like a waist of $ to not try and get it working.

Hey MWA80,

 

Got it! Since other lights are working on Google Home speakers, I can say that it's an issue with the integration of Feit to Google Home. This should be reported and investigated by their team as we don't have controls or access on their portal. I'll still forward this to the team, and I do suggest that you send feedback via voice command on your speaker. Make sure to replicate the issue first before sending feedback. Yeah they say its not on their end because it works in their app. However they qre going to send a new light. Thanks so much for all your help in this matter. Hopefully I do not run into issues with the next one
