I have purchased Google Home Mini from Flipkart on 10.08.2023. They sent me very old piece manufacturing date September 2020, 3 Years Old. When I tell them get returned and give me latest product, they denied and tell me to contact Google. Please guide me how can I replace my Google Home with latest technology and date. customer has right to get latest product when he is paying MRP full price. Please help.

I don't know who Flipkart is, but if they are selling old merchandise (which they may have purchased at a discount or clearance price from a wholesaler in the secondary market), I think Flipkart (and not Google) is legally and ethically responsible, especially if Flipkart is advertising it as the newer, 2nd gen product.

Hi there,
We appreciate your help, MpIsCustomer.
bhavsardhara, in addition to what MpIsCustomer has mentioned above, Flipkart should be able to provide you with the store warranty, especially since it is a newly purchased device. Even so, if it is manufactured in 2020, it will still get updates as long as it is connected to the WiFi network.
Regards,
Alex

If this customer's Google Home Mini was manufactured in Sept. 2020 but the customer is just now trying to install it for the first time, how can the Home Mini get updates if the customer cannot even install it and connect it to Wi-Fi because the firmware is so old?

Hi MpIsCustomer,
Thanks for the feedback. The firmware update should happen during the installation process. But if a user is experiencing issues connecting to the WiFi, then we need to further look into the compatibility of the user’s WiFi setup with Google Home devices.
Let’s wait for bhavsardhara’s response and see how we can go from there.
Best,
Alex
