Follow Sports Teams

Hello!

I've configured my GNH-Google Nest Hub (v. 2.0) to follow three football teams (European Football Leagues).

The GNH had responded positively and informed that will show live scores and show alerts at the start of the games.

I check with GNH which teams am I following, and the three of them are there.

Nevertheless, I've no notifications, unless I ask to show scores, like with as any other unfollowed team.

Anyone knows to resolve or why this feature doesn't work?

Thank You.

Hi martinsjcf,

Thanks for posting in the Community.

With Google Nest or Home speaker or display, you can stay up-to-date on your favorite sports, teams and games using your voice.

Below are some example commands that you can use:

"OK Google" or "Hey Google"

  • "What was the score of the Warriors game?"
  • "How are the Warriors doing?"
  • "What is the Warriors standings?"
  • "What is the Warriors record?"
  • "When are the Warriors playing next?"
  • "Who are Warriors playing <today or this week>?"
  • "Who’s playing in the <league> today?"

Supported sports and leagues

  • MLB, Korea Baseball Organization (KBO), Nippon Professional Baseball
  • NBA, WNBA, NCAA Men's Division I
  • NFL, NCAA Division I FBS football
  • Canadian Football League
  • NHL, Kontinental Hockey League
  • International Cricket Council, Indian Premier League
  • Global leagues and tournaments

Hope these info helped.

Princess

Hi!
I've already know the commands to stay up-to-date on my favourite teams that you have send and they work fine. But the main question isn't that.

There's an option, by voice command or by touch screen, to follow the team, and when I do that the Google Nest Hub says that will give live updates when the games will be about to start or when teams scored. And that doesn't happen.

Same here, additionally it'd be awesome if the full screen scoreboard would automatically replace photo albums and stay on during a match.

Hi Miguel!
Here's the conversation transcript that I had with the Google account on Twitter.

Thanks for confirming. To make sure we're on the same page, were you trying to have the scores pinned on your Google Nest Hub device home screen?

Yes, that right! I said the command "Follow Sporting Lisbon team" and Google Nest Hub (GNH) confirmed that was following that team and will notice live scores and give alerts to games start. But nothing happens when the games are happening or are about to begin. This team is from Portuguese Football (Soccer, if you are in the US) League. When I ask to GNH "What's the score of Sporting Lisbon" that's all ok; GNH show me the live score or the last score.

Understood. This may work on Android devices, but the feature itself isn't available on Google Nest Hub. You'll need to use your voice every time you want to ask for game updates. We're always looking for ways to improve and we'll take this as a feature request.

Precisely.

It'd be nice to have Automatic Updates like in android phones, but it'd be really awesome if besides that, the scores pinned in full screen, replacing the home screen, automatically.

That feature would catch eye of every sports fan.

Humourous tip: Do not call S.C.P as Sporting Lisbon, it actually is Sporting Portugal. Lion fan here 🦁 😉😅

Ah Ah Ah. Sporting fan as well, and you're right. But the first attempts to Nest Hub recognize "Sporting Club of Portugal", weren't easy. Instead, "Sporting Lisbon" was immediate. Still trying to teach him.

Hi folks,

Thanks for the response. I totally understand that this is a good feature to use with your Nest Hub 2nd generation, but it isn’t available. We appreciate people who are keen on sharing their thoughts with us. We're always looking for ways to improve. I'd suggest you submit feedback about it; here's how.
