German and devices not showing

I think the German thing is all around. Any news about that topic? 

my new nest hub 2 gen it’s half in english, half in german. Maybe some bug because my google account is in portuguese. Maybe that.

 

second problem, in a reset my devices appeared, but none appears in home control, but i tested and i can control them.. very weird. Apreciate that tou are working on these problems.

Hi RicardoVenancio,

 

This is not the experience we wanted you to have, let me help you. A few things: when did your issue begin? Were there any recent changes made? Where are you located? When and where did you buy your Nest Hub 2nd Gen? 

 

It would help a lot if you could do a sequential reboot first: 

 

  1. Unplug the power cord of your router followed by your Nest speakers.
  2. Plug them back in after 3 minutes tops.
  3. Restarting your phone might also help.

 

You also need to check your home and work locations, follow the steps below:

  1. Make sure your mobile device or tablet is connected to the same Wi-Fi network or linked to the same account as your speaker or display.
  2. Open the Google Home app.
  3. At the top right, tap your account.
  4. Verify that the Google Account shown is the one linked to your speaker or display. To switch accounts, tap the triangle next to the Google Account, then tap another account or Add another account.
  5. Tap Assistant settings > You > Your places.
  6. To edit a home or work address, tap the current address > enter a new address > Ok.
  7. To remove a home or work address, tap Remove next to the address.

Hello, I'm in Portugal, but that does't seem a reason to the hub keeps mixing German and English. I bought it in a Portuguese store but I imagine is an import. Just for you to know, one of the biggest tech retailers has a strong bet selling these google products.

I did a series of reboots and resets, but the German mix text kept coming back.

The one thing that worked for sometime was changing the language of the assistance from us English to uk English and vice-versa. when the assistant language was changed it worked for some time. 

Well, but now the situation changed a bit.

First I discovered that I had an Ipad where the region selected for some reason was Germany. But even when I got that right, it reverted back to German text.

Now, I bought a Nest Wifi. Had to reset and configure a lot of things. 

The situation now is: It stays in uk English as I configured it, but it doesn't swipe up. I Imagine it didn't installed automatically some firmware!

At least the smart home controls appear on the swipe down.

For the most part it functions well for the things I wanted, even in German, but I think it's bad for google reputation these kinds of problems existing, and after not getting addressed.

Chiming in, to ensure everything is covered here. Please note that we can only guarantee the full functionalities of the Google Nest Hub in those countries where the device is officially supported. That's the reason why some of the options and settings on your device are missing. Also, there are delays or possibility that your device will not receive the update.

 

As for the language on your Nest Hub, it is possible that it is switching the display language due to the language set on your iPad because the Google Home app detected that the device is set to German language.

 

We're looking for ways to bring the Google Home/Nest devices to additional countries like Portugal. Make sure to send feedback using your device by saying, "Hey Google, send feedback." Visit this link for more steps.

The ipad was not set to german language. It was in portuguese. It was The region selected as germany. 

and i put it right and continued to revert to german text, the hub. And since many other people are complaining about the same, doubt it was it. It’s a little bit supid. For now it’s hanging on in uk english without all functionalities.

My apologies for the confusion about your iPad. I mean the region selected and not the language. Moving forward, could you provide the current firmware version of your device. Also, about the full functionalities of your device, since you are located in Portugal there are other settings or features that may not be available because the Nest Hub is not officially release and supported in your country.

Thanks for the information. I can confirm that your device has the latest firmware version. The issues about the missing options/settings on your Nest display has something to do with your location. For the language, if it's still showing on the screen, please send a photo so we have a better picture of what's happening on your device.
