Gives wrong location

Google Assistant gives our current location as Milan. We are 500 kms away. Google assistant does not read our home address in the google home app.  It was fine until changed WiFi network and connected it to new network. Any ideas what we can do?

Thanks for sharing details about the issue here. I know how challenging it is when you're having issues with your Google Home/Nest device. A few questions: what Google Home/Nest device do you have? Do you have the same issue when using the Google Assistant app on your phone?

 

Please make sure that your device location/address is correct. Follow the steps below:

 

  1. Open the Google Home app.
  2. At the top right, tap your account.
  3. Verify that the Google Account shown is the one linked to your speaker or display. To switch accounts, tap another account or Add another account.
  4. Tap Assistant settings > Your places.
  5. To edit a home or work address, tap the current address > enter a new address > Ok.
  6. To remove a home or work address, tap Remove (X) next to the address.

Thanks. It’s now working. We went through the process about a dozen times and eventually it changed. Weirdly, it gives the wrong street number (not the one in the home address on

the app) but I’m down for the count and not even thinking about that.
